The UK is currently experiencing a public health emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, it is critical that businesses take a range of measures to keep everyone safe.
Public health is devolved in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales; this guidance should be considered alongside local public health and safety requirements and legislation in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. For advice to businesses in other parts of the UK please see guidance set by the Northern Ireland Executive, the Scottish Government, and the Welsh Government.
We make sure that the risk assessment for our business addresses the risks of COVID-19, using the guidance to inform our decisions and control measures. We also consider the security implications of any decisions and control measures We intend to put in place, as any revisions could present new or altered security risks that may require mitigation.
This rule will be implemented by our colleagues and our security team, and those who do not wear a face covering will be asked to leave. The health and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers is our highest priority. Current government guidance mandates that face coverings must be worn inside shops and retail settings. To ensure the absolute safety of those who come through our doors, and to help stop the spread of Coronavirus, it will now be mandatory to wear a face covering inside Harrods and those who do not comply with these rules will be asked to leave the store. It is equally mandatory for all colleagues to wear a face covering whilst in the work place.
We remain thoroughly committed to supporting the welfare of our valued FW family and are delighted to be able to welcome those who are returning to work back through our doors, with significant new measures in place to ensure their health and safety.
New signage and directions have been introduced to guide and inform colleagues on the new social distancing, hygiene and safety measures. Changes have been made in employee areas to facilitate social distancing and increased hygiene. All have been given considerable training on managing the new guidelines and will continue to be supported by managers.
FW has introduced enhanced sanitation procedures to maintain our existing high standards of cleanliness. The place of work will be frequently cleaned, throughout the day, by a dedicated cleaning team. A full clean of the office will take place outside trading hours every day.
Hand-sanitiser stations have been installed throughout the store for employees, and all till counters have hand sanitiser available for delivery serives. Colleagues also have access to hand-sanitiser stations and hand-washing areas throughout the store and in back-of-house areas.
