How to find out your hair type

Do you have thin hair, medium hair or thick hair? Is your hair straight, wavy, curly or coily? Does your hair have high porosity or low porosity?

Knowing your hair type will allow you to understand whether you hair needs more moisture, more oil & narrow down the products that will actually work for you hair.

How do I identify my hair type?
If your hair appears thinner than the sewing thread, your hair is fine, while if it seems thicker, it's likely coarse. Anything in between them would be medium. You can also tell your hair's structure by how well it holds a style. Fine hair is often delicate and typically can't hold curls very well.
How do I know my natural hair type?
Identifying your curl shape and pattern (or patterns) is best determined while your hair is sopping wet. A simple breakdown: Type 1s are straight, Type 2s are wavy, Type 3s are curly, and Type 4s are coily. The sub-classifications of A to C are based on the width or diameter of your wave, curl, or coil pattern.
There are four main types of hair texture: Type 1 - straight, Type 2 - wavy, Type 3 - curly and Type 4 - tightly curled. The hair type and texture can be further broken down into a, b and c based on the hair's curl pattern, density, porosity, width and length.
