How long is your hair?

Take a single strand of hair and examine it. If you can't see it or can barely see it = Fine. If you can see it easily when held up to the light = Medium. If you can see the strand easily = Thick. The thickness of your hair determines how much product it can hold without looking limp or weighted down. Less dense hair is often prone to looking greasy and limp. Hair density varies widely from person to person and tends to differ by ethnicity. There's no such thing as a hair density that's too high or too low, and your hair density isn't indicative of your overall health. However, people with nutritional deficiencies may experience hair loss that reduces overall hair density.
