The right hair care

With hundreds of hair care products in the market, which one do you know will work and to get?
Its important to find out about your own hair strength and journey to find the right outcome to get what you want.
Does your age matter?
As we age, our hair is prone to thinning and loss of pigment.
"Anyone older than 30 will eventually have finer, thinner hair," says Michael Lorin Reed, M.D., a New York City dermatologist. 50 percent of women suffer female-pattern hair loss, Estrogen-dominant birth-control pills also often help slow shedding.
How often do you wash your hair?
Washing your hair too often is drying and damaging. Daily washing is particularly bad for longer hair, according to Toni & Guy.International Artistic Director, Philipp Haug. Thick brunette and Asian hair types tend to get greasy quite quickly and should be washed more regularly, Whereas coloured, over-processed, textured or Afro-Caribbean type hair tends to be drier and can go longer without being washed eg once a week.
Does lifestyle matter?
Having a healthy lifestyle is a great way of encouraging healthy hair. To keep your hair nourished and hydrated, it's important that you maintain a balanced diet that includes protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.
How long is your hair?
A basic rule: more hair = more product. The overuse of products can cause this build up, which in turn would not allow your scalp to absorb the products as it should. This can also lead to issues such as a dry and irritated scalp.
How thick is your hair?
Take a single strand of hair and examine it. If you can't see it or can barely see it = Fine. If you can see it easily when held up to the light = Medium. If you can see the strand easily = Thick. The thickness of your hair determines how much product it can hold without looking limp or weighted down. Less dense hair is often prone to looking greasy and limp. Hair density varies widely from person to person and tends to differ by ethnicity. There's no such thing as a hair density that's too high or too low, and your hair density isn't indicative of your overall health. However, people with nutritional deficiencies may experience hair loss that reduces overall hair density.
